I'm not big on the holiday rom-coms that tend to make the rounds this time of year, but I still wanted something holiday-adjacent, and this seems like a great fit!
Oh my gosh, this makes me even more excited to read it! I was a bit intimidated by its size, but when I flipped through and saw emails and letters, I got so excited to read it!
The Gifted School was such a fun read, hard to put down and Elsewhere has been my absolute favourite and cannot stop recommending it! I gave up on Gingerbread about a third of the way, perhaps I’ll give it a chance of redemption
I enjoyed Gingerbread, but it is definitely not for everyone. I was in the mood for a strange and quiet fairy tale of sorts, and that's how it felt to me reading it, albeit darker and moodier than I was expecting. But it's definitely not a book I think everyone will love, which is totally okay! (And isn't Elsewhere amazing!? Why aren't more people reading it?!)
I usually enjoy darker subject matter but I was not able to suspend my belief for this one. I read another one of your recommendations, Greenglass House (not at all my usual genre) and loved it!! I was able to suspend belief in this one because the main character, Milo, gave himself over to imagination in order to solve the crime.
Well not sure which you will end up reviewing but I've added Gingerbread to my list!

Dead Collections is so good!!
Both my wife and I LOVED Gifted School. Such a fun, juicy read.
