Yes! I have read it! They are similar but also so different — Leave the World Behind is so isolated and focuses on only the characters in the house, while Lights Out shows what's happening in a crowded New Jersey neighborhood with news coming in and out by word of mouth. I think they're great books to read back-to-back for comparison, and both do a really wonderful job of asking hard questions about us and our current society. (Loved Leave the World Behind!)
*whispers* I still have somehow not read that!!! I have only heard great things, and it's one of those I know I'll probably love, so I have no excuse for putting it off like I have!
Have you read a book called The Apocalypse Seven by Gene Doucette?
I read(and wrote about it) a couple years ago but the premise is also dealing with the apocalypse, only this time asking the question "What would happen if you were fortunate(or unfortunate depending on your point of view) enough to have slept through the Apocalypse?"
(if you want the link to my non spoilery review let me know and I'll send it over, I didn't want to just spam it here in the comments though ;) )
You might enjoy it and your thoughts on Lights Out in Lincolnwood made me think of that book for some reason!
Lights Out in Lincolnwood reminds me of Leave the World Behind. Did you read the latter? Curious how it measures up!

Cool. Thanks for answering!
What an interesting premise! Station Eleven covers a little bit about the start of an apocalypse a bit but most of it is about the aftermath.

Ooooh, I have not read that book but am running to add it to my list! That sounds right up my alley!
Oh this sounds *so* terrifying.
